Fault Detection in Processors
نویسنده
چکیده
Duplication is the simplest fault-detection technique. Here, two identical copies are used and when a failure occurs, the two copies are no longer identical. A simple comparison detects the fault. Duplication detects all single faults except for that of the comparator. Duplication is applicable to all areas and levels of computer design, and thus is widely used. Let us now look at examples of circuit-level duplication and system-level duplication. When considering fault detection using duplicated components, we must note that both copies may be subject to identical failures (common-mode failures), particularly if both have the same design error. Loop Transformations for Fault
Distributed-memory systems can incorporate thousands of processors at a reasonable cost. However, with an increasing number of processors in a system, fault detection and fault tolerance become critical issues. By replicating the computation on more than one processor and comparing the results produced by these processors, errors can be detected. During the execution of a program, due to data d...

متن کاملVirtual channels for fault-tolerant programmable two-dimensional processor arrays
A programmable two-dimensional (2D) processor array is fault-tolerant if faulty processors can be detected, and then avoided during program execution. In the literature there are many schemes on detecting faulty processors and reconfiguring data routing to avoid them. However, an efficient implementation of these schemes on a 2D array can be an extremely difficult programming task if applicatio...
متن کاملFault-tolerant distributed deadlock detection/resolution
The problem of deadlock detection in a distributed system has been extensively studied in the past few years. Many algorithms on distributed deadlock detection have been proposed under the assumption that the processors and communication in the system are fault-free. However, in an unreliable distributed system, faulty processors may prevent a deadlock detection algorithm from properly detectin...

Steering assist system controls the force transfer behavior of the steering system and improves the steering probability of the vehicle. Moreover, it is an interface between the diver and vehicle. Fault detection in electrical assisted steering systems is a challenging problem due to frequently use of these systems. This paper addresses the fault detection and reconstruction in automotive elect...
